Access to services with physician telephone consultation is included in your membership. Health care provider charges including house call visits, prescription medications, medical specialists, eyeglasses or contact lenses, medical supplies and delivery are not included and paid based on services rendered. Visiting physician fees vary by location, time, and treatment provided. StandbyMD will assist with coordination of payment including direct billing to insurance company when possible.
Each StandbyMD client has specific requirements
that must be met prior to access and members are responsible for meeting these requirements.
A StandbyMD representative may be able to answer specific questions about your insurance verification and prepayment requirements, but we recommend that you consult your insurance company.

Our Medical Concierge Representatives are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist you. Based on the nature of your call, a physician will call you back (usually within 15 minutes) for a telephone consultation. You will be asked to describe your symptoms and answer questions to best assess the seriousness of your condition. Based on the assessment, the physician will assist with self care treatment, a physician house call visit (usually within 1 hour), clinic referral, emergency room admission or a medical specialist appointment. The Medical Concierge Representative can also assist you in obtaining an appointment, replacing eyeglasses, and providing other concierge services.
StandbyMD is committed to protecting the privacy and the confidentiality of your personal information. Your personal health information is kept confidential in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”). We do not sell or rent your name, address, e-mail address or other personal information to anyone outside our company and network of health care providers. We do not disclose your information to anyone outside our company and network of health care providers without your consent, except:
• As necessary to comply with applicable laws
or legal process
• To protect our rights or property
• To enforce our terms of service, or
• To a third party providing services to us or to
assist us in offering products and services to
you, and then only if the third party agrees to
safeguard and keep confidential your personal
information.
Health care providers shall comply with all laws relating to the furnishing of services. The health care provider is responsible to maintain in effect all licenses, registrations, permits, and other governmental approvals which may from time to time be necessary for that purpose, including, but not limited to, attending any continuing education classes necessary to maintain licensure in the practicing territory.
StandbyMD health care providers are independent contractors. StandbyMD does not otherwise guarantee nor is responsible for the quality of services or products provided to members by the health care provider.
In no instance will StandbyMD assume any liability or financial responsibility for any services that are obtained or provided by any health care provider. The Physician reserves the sole right to determine medical necessity in accordance with the Medical Community Standards of Care. StandbyMD receives no financial compensation for referrals to Ancillary Providers. In no event shall StandbyMD be liable to a member for any acts or omissions of distributors or sub-distributors. Further, StandbyMD shall not be liable to the member for any failure or delay in the provision of services hereunder, and any such delay or failure shall for all purposes be excused, when such delay or failure is caused by governmental regulations (whether or not valid), fire, strike, weather, acts of God, differences with employees or independent contractors, war, flood, accident, traffic, shortage of products or transportation, or any other cause or causes beyond the reasonable control of StandbyMD.
